Sophie Rosa and John Wilson

Sophie Rosa Sophie Rosa began to play the violin at the age of four. She studied with Professor Wen Zhou Li, first at Chethams School and, more recently, at the Royal Northern College of Music. As well as solo playing Sophie has also taken part in many quartet performances, including a concert with the Schubert Ensemble at the Purcell Room, London. In October 2008 Sophie won first prize in the prestigious Lions European Music Competition in Cannes in which she represented the UK amongst eighteen different countries.
John Wilson John Wilson has played piano, celeste, harpsichord and organ for both the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as acting as the official accompanist to most of the UK’s leading orchestras. During his career, John has played for hundreds of international artists and has partnered Paul Tortelier, Sir Michael Tippett and Yehudi Menuhin in televised masterclasses. John was made a Fellow of the Royal Northern College of Music in 1988.

The Club's Annual Gala Concert will this year be at St Mary's Centre, with wine and buffet provided. Come and enjoy a festive occasion that is always the highlight of the Club's programme.
