An opportunity for all who love singing to spend time exploring a range of choral skills and repertoire within tutor led workshop sessions. Choral singers of all abilities are invited to join Chester Music Society Choir for a new learning experience.

Details:
This exciting new learning experience has been created in response to choir members looking to improve their skills, away from the demands of a busy concert rehearsing schedule.
In the morning sessions each tutor will lead small group workshops with all participants taking part in rotation in 3 areas of study. In the afternoon everyone will gather together to rehearse and perform music of very different styles.
THE TUTORS
Graham Jordan Ellis has been Musical Director of Chester Music Society choir since 1996. An experienced freelance conductor of both choral and orchestral music, Graham has worked with many choral and operatic societies and conducted many memorable concerts. He is Director of Music at Birkenhead School.
Diana Palmerston studied at RNCM and is internationally acclaimed on the concert platform. She teaches voice at Chethams School of Music.
Helen Francis, alongside her singing career, is vocal tutor at Liverpool University, Chethams, the Northern Ballet School and coaches the National Youth Choir.
Stephen Reynolds is a highly acclaimed recitalist and teaches piano at RNCM. He accompanies a number of choral societies including CMS.
THE MUSIC
‘In the Mood’ (OUP), a sophisticated arrangement of classic songs in a variety of styles and Duruflé Requiem.
